Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

This document is a continuation of the pdf 990 for 2008, which lists our major programs on the second page. Please view the pdf 990 for 2008, Part III. Statement of Program Service Accomplishments and then read the following:

31a.We continue to be best known by, and reach the most people through our website, http://www.rebozoway.org. We offer educational opportunities through our varied articles, photos, projects, links, and more. Our site contains approximately 150 pages and we try to add to and refine the content on a regular basis. In 2008, visitors had 206,682 pageviews, 14,750 more than in 2007 and 33,617 more than in 2006. Cost: $400

b. In Santa Barbara, CA, where our President and Treasurer live, The Rebozo Way Project had an exposition in a display case in the busy lobby of the downtown library, for the whole month of November. It included our collage, sample photos from our Photography Show, books, booklets, and DVDs, babywearing dolls, traditional cloth carriers from around the world, and a variety of information sheets about the project and how we are carrying out our mission. The exposition was both beautiful and educational, and was a wonderful way to connect with the local community and to highlight our work. For those who were unable to see the display in person, we have photos of it on our website:

http://www.rebozoway.org/projects/LibraryDisplayCasePhotosNov08.htm

This display was seen by and benefited approximately 5000 people. Cost: $180

c. We have continued our REP program (Rebozo Way Educators of Parenting Practices); we brought eight REPs onboard this year, benefiting 480 more people. We offer ongoing support to REPs and encourage sharing of their ideas, events, and publicity with us and with each other. Our ongoing REP program benefited approximately 1000 others, not including those who benefited from viewing the new DVD. Cost: $251

d. We continue to offer free consultations and information sharing related to our mission via email, and during 2008, we answered approximately 265 emails requesting information related to our mission, not counting inquiries into the REP Program (see below) or orders for educational materials. Cost: $120

e. The Rebozo Way Project and one of our photos were featured in an article about how rebozos are made in the summer 2008 edition of FiberArts Magazine. Some of our photos were also highlighted in the entranceway to the seating area of a show called “Wearing My Baby”, in a theater in NYC on June 14. Our founder and President, Barbara Wishingrad, was interviewed by a senior illustration major at the Massachusetts College of Art, who was working on her degree project about the rebozo. Cost: $35

Total: $986
