The Rebozo Way Project is proud to introduce our Advisory Board. It is presently comprised of seven members from a variety of backgrounds, with many talents. Our board members include:
- Carole McGranahan, professor of cultural anthropology at the University of Colorado Boulder, presently involved in a project that is studying babywearing practices, physiological benefits, and parenting philosophies across cultures.
- Silvia Wasjutin is a bilingual speech therapist and represents the Central Coast Attachment Disorders Support Group in CA.
- Suzanne Arms is an acclaimed author, filmmaker, speaker, visionary, and activist for healthy birthing options. She is the director of Birthing the Future.
- John Travis, MD, MPH is a founding member of aTLC (Alliance for Transforming the Lives of Children) and is presently working on a book Why Men Leave: The Epidemic of Disappearing Dads. He is also one of the founders of the wellness movement in the US.
- Jun-Nicole Matsushita of HUGS (Help Us Give Slings): Tsunami and Earthquake Aid to Mothers in Indonesia, and is also a co-leader of the Iowa City Babywearers.
- Ana Perusquia is a bilingual babywearer educator and manufacturer from Michoacán, Mexico.
- Tracy Dower is a long time babywearing advocate and educator; she founded The Mamatoto Project
Mexican Representative
- Lupita Gonzalez is our project representative in Guadalajara, who, with Barbara, answers emails from Spanish speaking countries and publicizies and lives the Rebozo Way of Life in its country of origin. She is the mother of two children worn in rebozos, and is studying to be a La Leche leader. Contact her (in Spanish) through our website.
