ABOUT OUR EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS
The Rebozo Way Project received our 501c3 federal non profit status in 2005 , retoractive through October 2004. We are very happy that we have been officially acknowledged for our educational efforts and our commitment to social change through fostering healthy relationships and meeting babies' needs for attachment and community. In  2010, the name of our organization was officially changed to Nurturing Across Cultures.
A rebozo is a Mexican shawl, used for many purposes, including carrying babies and small children. It serves as a symbol of the Rebozo Way of Life, a way of being with small children based on traditional ways human beings have related to each other in many cultures around the world. We focus on nurturing our young so that they develop a strong sense of security, self esteem, and compassion for others. Using the rebozo, or similar ways of carrying babies, is one of the aspects that we promote. Some of our educational materials reflect the practical and philosophical side of babywearing.
We also foster ways to honor and build community, from the beginnning of life. These may include ways of birthing and healing that are natural, nurturing to the mother, baby and family, as well as ways of earning income and supporting each other that respect the individual as well as the whole, that value items made by hand and with care and patience, and ways in which such items are incorporated into the life of the community. We also offer educational materials that highlight these aspects of our work.
Every time you make a purchase from our store, you are helping to support and further our mission. We are grateful for your participation.
